In Memory Of...

In Memory of Spencer Hazeldine
1991-2005

For any of you who have ever come out to Hunter Hill stables you would have surely met our big brown barn dog Spencer.  Spencer passed away August 8th 2005. Although he had had some problems in the last year he was still my constant companion everywhere I went on the farm. As many of you know he almost died as a three day old puppy and was brought back to life by Doctor Herbers of Sherwood Park. He was unable to go back with his mom so from that day on I kept him in a pouch on my coveralls and tube fed him until he was old enough to eat on his own. As the vet had felt he had heart problems as well and wouldn't live to see his first birthday we opted to keep him.

Through the years he has been my constant companion and has helped me in many ways . Everything from turning an entire herd of horses that would have run me down to keeping all horses from touching me when they shouldn't be.  He went everywhere with me and when I rode a new or young horse for the first few times he rode around and around the arena with me I would assume to make sure I would be safe. I am pretty sure he would have caught me if I had fallen. He sat in the arena through -30 on blankets I laid out for him as well as +30 on the cool cement waiting for me. I never had to look for him since if I was out of the house he was right beside me. Having never been without him by my side when in my barn it is unbelievably lonely . Even the cats miss him stealing their food.

Wherever you are Spencer I  miss you and will never forget all you have done for me for 14 wonderful years.
All my heart and Love .
Your Mom , Colleen

IN LOVING MEMORY OF
JUSTA DIRTY ZIPPER

We at Hunter hill are sad to announce that Winston/Tuff has passed away. We are very sorry for Barb Hazle who only had a short time with this wonderful colt . He will be sadly missed by all of us but never forgotten. It is a shame that such a young talented horse will never reach his full potential but we are glad we had him for the short time we did and were able to see what he could have been.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SIERRA LEOLE IMP

1993-2004

Jack, Colleen, Madison, and Alexia would like to say that all of us at Hunter Hill stables will  sadly miss this wonderful big mare. She gave us five beautiful babies one of which we have chosen to keep to remember her by. She was Madison's first top quality show horse and came home with superiors and many ROMs in many events. Safely carrying our small child in the ring. When retired she went on to teach many people to ride at our stable while in between giving us lovely babies, and her patients and kindness will be remembered by all those who had the chance to ride her. She had to be humanly put down due to a heart problem  and her loss has left a large whole in our hearts and will for some time. We miss you Mikki and will for some time but we will be able to keep your memory alive as we watch your daughter Song grow with your same kindness and soft way of going. Love from all of us.
